The North Houston Association of Professional Landmen (NHAPL) is a nonprofit professional association organized in 1983, to further the knowledge of petroleum land professionals through educational opportunities and to facilitate the networking of industry partners through various social events.
NHAPL is headquartered in the Greenspoint area, being the gateway to the Houston oil and gas industry, and is a local chapter of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL). About 85% of our current members also belong to the AAPL.
NHAPL luncheon meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, September through May, at The Greenspoint Club in north Houston. The agenda includes lunch and guest speakers who provide a presentation on relative current events regarding the oil and gas industry. NHAPL also provides a half-day seminar in the spring inclusive of lunch and afternoon social. To promote the continuation of educational opportunities for the professional development of all members, efforts are made to assist members in obtaining educational credits towards CPL, RPL and RL certification through attendance at these membership meetings. The NHAPL has hosted numerous speakers who are prominent professionals in the land and legal sector of the petroleum industry, who have made presentations at its meetings on a variety of current topics concerning the oil patch.
In addition to the monthly luncheons, the NHAPL holds an annual golf tournament in the fall for its members and jointly hosts an annual spring golf tournament with the West Houston Association of Professional Landmen (WHAPL).
NHAPL strives to provide a professional, social and educational association to benefit its membership. NHAPL has also joined with AAPL in supporting various legislative issues facing the oil and gas industry. There are many social and educational events held each year. We invite non-members and members of other organizations to join us at any of these events to experience the camaraderie of the NHAPL.
